I sat down with John today and asked him to share with us one small nugget about the Siddha Kriya Breathing practice and why it is so potent in the video above.
In his words, “ To be the boundless, changeless absolute is effortless. But in order to reflect it in daily life you have to embody living yoga.
In order to neutralize the effects of lifestyle, gravity, ageing, astrology, whatever affects the body, balance the doshas, the tattvas, gunas - as well as the knowledge of the absolute, techniques have to be passed down. Provided through the ages are the required practices to maintain a healthy body mind vehicle.
Designed to reduce stress on the system, practices are given that use the natural tendencies and weaknesses of the body as a resource to expand, sustain and maintain body energy, expand the life force and lengthen lifespan enhancing the living experience.
Some even trick the body into releasing it’s energy and life force. Learning how to milk and trick the body into releasing its juice Amrit has always been a secret and kept that way for a reason.
But now, because natural conditions are changing and unusual stress from chemicals in the food chain, medication, drugs, Wi-Fi, impacting the body, in an advancing culture these practices are being made available.
How to build power, strength and invoke immunity is a secret long held by the Siddha’s.”
If you would like to learn more about this unique practice and you happen to live in the Byron Shire, the Siddha Kriya Pranayama course for Men is happening May 12- June 8th. 7-8.30 am Mondays and Thursdays with an Introductory talk on Friday May 12 at 5.30 pm. Booking is essential here
If you can’t make it in person to study with John, we offer Siddha Kriya Pranayama for EVERYONE as part of the Lotus membership on Sundaram Online Ashram. Class is online on Mondays at 5 pm AEST.
No matter whether you have a regular breath practice or asana practice regardless of any practice, you are the promise and wish fulfilment itself. This is the beauty and gift of the tradition. That there is a teaching that points the way….the practices are only ever the after care :)
Have the best time!
Rachel and John
